Arik Miranda
by Jenna Romano | 27.07.16Arik Miranda is a photographer and painter whose versatile style and out-of-the box conceptions consistently attract audiences. Take a look at Miranda’s solo exhibition, Love The Feeling of Being Slightly Lost, for example–which documents the artist’s journey into the gallery space where the creation of an exhibition becomes the subject itself.
The artist was hosted by The Lobby Art Space, which functions not only as a gallery but also as a public entrance to a residential building. Miranda played with this idea and sought the possibilities of using the space as not only an artist, but also as a sub-tenant.
Entering The Lobby, Miranda brings in his camera, bed, a mirror and a plant and begins to work. He invites friends, fellow artists and viewers to participate and make suggestions as the work progresses. Visitors can expect anything but the traditional from Miranda; as he shares the possibilities of examining the places which we occupy–physically or mentally, temporarily or permanently.
Opening event on 28th of July. 8pm. The exhibition will run until September 17th.
