Under the Table by Cookie Moon

This week’s Telavivian Cinema pick is Under the Table, a short film created by video artist Sara Laimon who goes by the artistic pseudonym Cookie Moon. Cookie describes her unique oeuvre as a story about her fragile relationship with her ultra-Orthodox father. In it, Cookie compares the journey of their inter-generational, inter-cultural relationship to the seven days of Creation, the portion of the Torah the two study together regularly. “Every day of creation is linked to a personal memory we share,” Cookie explains.

After you’ve watched Under the Table, check out our interview with Cookie for an exclusive peek behind the scenes.
