David Havrony – Begin to Begin

by Anna Kopito | 24.08.14

Love can happen in an instant or evolve over forever. Love can be for the high-reachng and unattainable or it can exist in something you know better than you know yourself. 29 year old Photographer David Havrony has been working on a series of photographs entitled Begin to Begin which confronts the very nature of these loves which exist all at once close and far from what you know. The recent Bezalel graduate from Nahariya finds himself reshooting environments to discover newness in places that he knows like the back of his camera.

Finding a beauty in the mundane or the downtrodden and finding the hideous in the superficially perfect – Havrony strips back the layers of his subjects and discovers something new with every shot. Finding a great deal of inspiration in Tel Aviv itself, a city which has so many layers of conflict and complication; Havrony finds that the city is always inspiring and simultaneously, always problematic. Havrony works to find the beauty of his surroundings and works to find the beauty in all it’s honesty, in all it’s difficulties.
