FIRST Apparel Studio, founded by FIDM-trained Natalie Tal in 2014, is making high-end fashion accessible to all with ‘designer basics’ that don’t discriminate based on shape, size, age or identity. Tal draws inspiration for her line from minimal feminine and masculine aesthetics, ensuring that her designs are infused with ‘quiet’ to create clothing that’s simple, yet exceptional.
Spring Summer 2017 collection focuses on urban, monochromatic garments that were inspired by the architectural world without sacrificing comfort or style. Tal describes it as having ‘volume and presence without the need for words’, which is evident through the fluid and flattering silhouette of the striped jersey Tamar T-shirt, the high-quality fabric of the woven jacquard Anat Dress, and the subtle zipper embellishments of the high-waisted Stav Pant.
The pieces are primarily black and white but feature an impressive range of textures, prints, and silhouettes that make them prime for mixing and matching into self-expressed looks. Overall, the collection is timeless, with day-to-night options that will not only complement—but elevate— any wardrobe.
