Shay Peryby Daniel Arom | 16.08.16
Shay Pery is a designer and multi-disciplinary artist whose work explores connects urban areas, cities and the environment with color and art. Pery was originally educated at Jerusalem’s Betzalel Academy where he received his MFA.
Pery works within the disciplines of ceramics, illustration, photography and drawing; moving outside of the studio to use buildings, pavements and even children’s parks as a starting point.
Exploring these areas and envisioning their transformation can lead to surprising results such as the use of scraps of wood he excavates from Tel Aviv’s environment as well as carpenters.
The artist has a way of using his finely tuned artistic skills and large vision to create a dialogue that moves out of his studio and into the public realm.
