Our Values

Our team sat down to discuss the truest values that reflect our platform today, and in essence, what we want to grow into. Our number one answer, from day one, is to support Israeli culture and businesses in the best possible way. This takes active effort, support, and consistency.

Local independent business owners, creators, artists, and establishments depend on all of us to eat, drink, visit, and shop.

How can we all continue to contribute to Israel’s brilliance together? Our team thought of a bunch of start-now ideas, and you are always welcome to send us yours.

1. Let’s always shop local and regional culinary products whenever possible. Buy all the good stuff for yourself – and one up that by treating your family and friends to a golden supply of olive oil by Rish LaKish, cheese from Barkanit and honey by Pereh, “just cause”. Once you have tried them, you can never go back.

2. If you are in Israel, let’s visit and talk up our favorite places as much as possible. Of course, the newest hot spots. But we also need to love on the ones that have been around forever. Restaurants, cafes, bars, and hotels – they all rely on us to continue to make their daily magic happen.

3. Let’s fill our Spotify with new and nostalgic Israeli music, such as Lola Marsh, Tuna, Arik Einstein, Teddy Neguse, Jasmin Moallem, and Sarit Hadad. Find out when and where they are playing live and support their music. Follow Telavivian on Spotify and enjoy our playlists featuring exclusively local music.

4. Let’s buy Israeli design to support designers, allowing them to continue pouring their hearts into their work. There are so many local makers who truly represent such beautiful perspectives on Israeli design. Get your jeans from ATA, textiles from Meira Sitton, plates from Nur Minawi, lamps from Itai Bar-On, furniture by Tomer Nachshon, soaps by Maapilim and candles by Tekes. Many of them ship worldwide.

5. Let’s make sure to always order Israeli wine whenever we go out to eat, or bring a local bottle of Clos de Gat, Ghito or Lotem Winery to a friends’ dinner. Even more, get a bit tipsy and make a whole day out of Israeli wine tastings at Nana Winery or Agur Winery.

6. When it comes to business and you are working on a project, make sure to hire Tel Avivian professionals if you can – photographers, graphic designers, architects, illustrators, artists, producers, consultants and more. We are so happy with the collaborations we have done with Studio Koniak, photographer Noam Preisman and artist Dror Cohen.

7. Let’s buy Israeli art and support the Israeli art scene by visiting Israeli exhibitions locally – and all over the world. Follow Yael Bartana, Tal R, Noa Yafe and Karam Natour and share their work to pay the inspiration forward.

8. Read books by local authors. So many influential and insightful books have been translated from Hebrew and offer layered outlooks of this country – from Etgar Keret to Ayelet Gundar-Goshen and Meir Shalev. We also highly recommend books by authors such as Eshkol Nevo, Hila Blum and A.B. Yehoshua.

9. Spread the word about Israel and its places, projects and people. Share your discoveries and experiences in Israel with your friends.

Every time you support, share, engage, and connect with Israel, you are actively strengthening and contributing to something bigger.
