In the center of an avocado plantation in Moshav Herut, an old chicken house has been transformed into a fromagerie known as Hanan Hagaban. Founded by the cheese maker Hanan Sofer and his partner Hadar, the fromagerie possesses a modern spirit with decorative tablecloths, wooden cheese platters, and imported wines. Along with the cheeses, the fromagerie sells seasonal produce, olive oil, and baked goods. Dine in the outdoor seating area, indulge in a locally sourced meal, sip Italian coffee or, of course, buy artisanal cheeses at the shop.
